LinkedIn AdNew Ad: career clarity for new graduates
Have you ever felt pressure to choose a career without really knowing what most jobs are like day-to-day? I can relate. I graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a Communications degree and absolutely no idea what I wanted to do. Like many students, I raced toward graduation focused on crossing the finish line. I pieced together internships in fields I barely understood, but they didn't give me a clear picture of what those careers were actually like. My early career was messy: advertising, banking, and then finally to the job I truly loved: Recruiting. It clicked immediately. Helping candidates and employees find their true passion, a role where they can do their best work and have true impact… it didn’t feel like work to me. That journey took me from Cisco to leading People at Topspin and BlueJeans (thank you, [Krish Ramakrishnan](https://www.linkedin.com/in/krishramakrishnan)), and eventually to [Dialpad](https://www.linkedin.com/company/dialpad) (thank you, [Craig Walker](https://www.linkedin.com/in/cwalker123)), where for the last 9 years I've loved helping to grow careers and the company from 150 to 1,400 people. At 22, I couldn't have imagined this path... or even named most of the jobs I've since hired for. Most people interested in tech never get to hear directly from the PM setting strategy, or the designer creating the user experience. They see job titles on a careers page and have to guess at the rest. I want students and early-career professionals to have real exposure to careers inside an AI technology company like [Dialpad](https://www.linkedin.com/company/dialpad). That kind of access shouldn't be difficult or exclusive. That's the problem Dialership was built to solve. For 10 weeks, participants learn directly from the people doing the work. They spend the first half exploring every major function across the company—from Product, Design & Engineering to Sales, Marketing, Customer Experience, Legal, Finance, and People—before choosing one of eight career tracks to explore more deeply. Every participant leaves with something tangible: a clear understanding of careers in Tech and a certification they can proudly add to LinkedIn. The best moments happen in the conversations. A student hears a RevOps analyst explain their day, or a designer share that they never went to design school, and suddenly "working in tech" becomes something they can actually picture. You can see the moment curiosity turns into a plan. It changes the Dialers who teach, too. They generously shared their time, answered the questions they once felt embarrassed to ask, and passed along the advice they wish they'd received. Thank you to the 65 Dialers who made this possible. You shared your career stories—including the messy parts—stayed for every Q&A, and helped hundreds of participants across nine countries better understand what's possible.
